I'd Rather Be Sailing

I'd rather be sailing, yes, I would
On an open sea
I'd stand at the railing if I could
Feeling wild and free

The sun is on my neck, the wind is in my face
The water's incredibly blue
And I'd rather be sailing
Yes, I'd wanna go sail
And then come home to you

Sex is good, but I'd rather be sailing
Food is nice, but I'd rather be sailing
People are swell, but I'd rather be sailing
Over the horizon

And I'd rather be sailing, yes, I would
On an open sea
I'd stand there inhaling if I could
Feeling wild and free

The sun is on my neck, the wind is in my face
The sea is incredibly blue
And I'd rather be sailing
Yes, I'd wanna go sail
And then come home to you

I'd rather be sailing
Yes, I'd wanna go sail
And then come home to you

This song came into my life and seriously spoke to me. It completely explains where I'm at. And it's funny because I've always wanted to live near water and learn to sail. The lyrics "The sun is on my neck. The wind is in my face. The water's incredibly blue" sends chills down my spine. To be on the open water and hear peace. To see calm. To be free.

We don't get that in our mundane lives. We have schedules and responsibilities and meetings and work yadda yadda yadda! Why don't we allow ourselves to be untamed and see where the wind may actually take us? Imagine the possibilities.

I've been obsessed with living on a waterfront and having a dock I can sit on and watch the water. I find the water so peaceful and calming. Maybe that's why I like rain so much.

To have a place to sit and be quiet, listen, and just be. I'd give anything for that. Especially with how crazed my life has been for the last few months, to just have peace would be an absolute dream come true. To have a place to collect and breathe and feel... Maybe I'm talking gibberish, but it seems so perfect.
